About the Idaho category

Idaho is the statewide navigation Zone for trail, recreation, stewardship, access, and outdoor-community topics that apply across the state. Use the regional Idaho Zones for local trail knowledge, clubs, events, and stewardship projects.

Idaho spans the Panhandle forests and lakes, the Clearwater and Salmon River country, the central mountains, the Snake River Plain, the high desert and canyonlands of southern Idaho, and the Yellowstone and Teton gateway country in the east. Major managed landscapes include Idaho State Parks, the Idaho Centennial Trail, Sawtooth National Recreation Area, Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, Hells Canyon, Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve, City of Rocks National Reserve, Caribou-Targhee National Forest, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, Idaho Panhandle National Forests, and other national forest and public land systems.

We have divided it into these regions:

Idaho - North & Central Idaho

Idaho - Southern Idaho

Idaho, Montana & Wyoming - Yellowstone-Tetons

Please go to those regions for local information, organizations, and topics, reserving this statewide Zone exclusively for statewide topics.
