Welcome to Trailspect Outpost
Trailspect Outpost helps outdoor people find real places, real communities and practical ways to participate.
It is built around local knowledge, clubs, events, stewardship and the people already doing the work. The goal is not to keep you scrolling. The goal is to help you find where you belong, make useful connections and get outside with real people.
Find your way around Outpost
Outpost is organized into Spaces with different purposes and participation boundaries.
Land & Community
Explore place-based Regions built around communities, landscapes and the outdoor places people use and care for. These Regions are the home for local knowledge, access and condition information, stewardship, organizations and practical visitor orientation.
Local discussion works best when it remains grounded in the people, places and current conditions of the Region. Read the pinned Discussions before participating so you understand how that particular Region works.
Clubs
Clubs may have their own private Spaces for internal communication, member coordination and club activity. Each club controls access to its private areas.
Being able to see that a club exists does not necessarily mean you can see or join its private Discussions.
Club Leadership and Race Directors
These Spaces help club leaders, race directors and other organizers compare notes, work through shared challenges and build stronger outdoor organizations and events.
Access may depend on your role.
Collaboration
Collaboration is for work that crosses organizational or geographic boundaries, including stewardship projects, land-manager coordination, advocacy and other shared efforts.
Event Atlas
Event Atlas helps people find races, conferences, stewardship events, club gatherings and other outdoor events through broad geographic District Hubs.
Ongoing local trail knowledge and stewardship discussion still belongs in the appropriate Land & Community Region.
Landmark Gatherings
Landmark Gatherings contains durable gathering communities that continue beyond a single event date, including Tahoe Trails Rendezvous and the US Trail Running Conference.
Vendors Tent
Vendors Tent is the only Space for commercial speech in Outpost. Members may discover vendors, ask for recommendations, compare services and discuss their experiences. Vendors may explain and promote their own offerings when they clearly disclose their relationship to them.
Commercial promotion, solicitation, vendor marketing and promotional replies are not permitted anywhere else in Outpost.
Outpost Commons and Site Feedback
Use Outpost Commons for community-wide discussion that does not have a clearer home.
Use Site Feedback to report problems, suggest improvements and help make Outpost easier to use.
Why you may be able to read but not post
Some parts of Outpost are visible so you can understand the community before participating. Posting and replying require a login, and access may also depend on the particular Space, your club or event connection, your role or approval by the people responsible for that area.
If you can read something but cannot post there, nothing is necessarily broken. The participation boundary may be intentional.
What to do next
Start with the pinned Discussions in Welcome & Orientation.
Then:
-
Explore the Land & Community Regions connected to the places you know or want to understand.
-
Find clubs, events, stewardship organizations and gathering communities relevant to you.
-
Request access where a private or role-based Space fits your real connection.
-
Use Vendors Tent for all commercial questions and promotion.
-
Use Site Feedback if something is unclear or does not appear to work correctly.
Outpost is being built carefully so useful local knowledge, community trust and real-world participation can grow together.
Find your place, meet the people already there and take the connection outside.
