Alabama’s outdoor life does not fit neatly into one landscape. North Alabama reaches into the Tennessee Valley, sandstone canyons, Appalachian foothills, and ridge-and-valley country. Central Alabama gathers Birmingham, Talladega, the fall line, the Cahaba, Coosa, Tallapoosa, and Black Warrior systems.
