About the Washington Zone

This Zone is the statewide navigation surface for trail, stewardship, access, public-land, funding, policy, agency, and outdoor-community topics that apply across Washington.
Use it for statewide programs, agency resources, public-land notices, state policy, and issues that genuinely cross multiple regions. Local trail knowledge, club discovery, route questions, trail conditions, regional stewardship projects, and place-specific Discussion belong in the regional Washington Zones.

Washington is shaped by water, weather, mountains, and crossings: Pacific coast and rainforest, the Salish Sea, volcanoes and passes, dry coulees and basalt, the Columbia River, the Palouse, the Blue Mountains, and the inland forests near Idaho and British Columbia. Its outdoor communities often move between city gateways and big landscapes, from Seattle and Bellingham to the North Cascades, from Olympia and Longview to the Olympic Coast, from Wenatchee and Yakima toward the dry side, and from Spokane toward the Bitterroot and Clearwater country.

Regional Zones serving Washington:

WA - Olympia, Longview & Olympic Coast
