# Find Your Place in Outpost

Outpost is organized around real connections to places, organizations, events and outdoor work. You do not need to join every Space. Start with what brought you here.
## Start with a place
Use **Land & Community** to explore Regions connected to the places where people live, travel, organize, volunteer and spend time outside.
Each Region includes local orientation, visitor guidance and participation guidance. Read the pinned Discussions before creating a new Discussion so you understand what belongs there and what information will make your contribution useful.
## Start with a club or organization
Use **Clubs** to find participating outdoor clubs and their community Spaces.
Some club Spaces are private. A club may require membership, an invitation or another real connection before granting access.
## Start with an event
Use **Event Atlas** to find races, conferences, stewardship events, club gatherings and other outdoor events through broad geographic District Hubs.
Use **Landmark Gatherings** for continuing communities built around recurring gatherings such as Tahoe Trails Rendezvous and the US Trail Running Conference.
Event discussion belongs with the event. Durable local knowledge about trails, access and stewardship belongs in the appropriate Land & Community Region.
## Start with shared work
Use **Collaboration** for projects that cross club, organizational or geographic boundaries, including stewardship, advocacy, land-manager coordination and other joint efforts.
## Start with a leadership role
Use **Club Leadership** or **Race Directors** when your work involves the responsibilities, operating challenges and shared knowledge of those roles.
Access may depend on your actual role.
## Start with a product or service
Use **Vendors Tent** to discover vendors, ask for recommendations, compare providers, discuss experiences and learn about trail-related products and services.
Vendors Tent is the only Space where commercial promotion, solicitation, vendor marketing and promotional replies are permitted.
## Start with a broader community question
Use **Outpost Commons** when a community-wide Discussion does not have a clearer home elsewhere.
Use **Site Feedback** for problems with Outpost, feature ideas, copy corrections and suggestions about how the community works.
When several Spaces seem possible, choose the most specific useful home. A well-placed Discussion is easier to find, easier to answer and more likely to remain useful.
